Tesco - the UK's equivalent to Costco - tried a chain of markets in California. There was one near me, and I liked it, but they couldn't make a go of it, and they closed 3-4 years ago.
There was an aisle of "international" foods that looked just like that, and I used to think the same thing of the British display. It was mostly condiments, canned items and some instant foods; Branston's Pickle, Heinz' Salad Cream, Heinz' Baked Beans, H.P. Sauce, etc.. They were British products, but I wouldn't categorize it, broadly, as British food.

Those Taverners wine gums, I've never heard of them. Tell me, are they the kind of wine gum that is quite firm in texture and a nice hard chew? As a kid I loved Maynards wine gums - they had a really firm texture, a good solid chew and bursting with flavours the more you ground them. Then a number of years ago Maynards merged with Bassetts, I think, and they changed the recipe to make the wine gums much, much softer and more like Haribo jellies. Really bad. I hear Marks and Spencer sell a hard wine gum pack and I've been meaning to buy some. I just looked up Taverners online, but I've never seen them for sale in stores. Soft, mushy wine gums just don't do it for me, brah. nutsberryfarm π

Doesn't everyone eat a bowl of baking soda mixed with chocolate syrup every day?
