I'm going to keep this short. On June 23 2015 on I-94 near Dalton MN a semi truck crowded an SUV in a way that may have contributed to the death of two teenage brothers driving on their way to a basketball tournament . Despite an image of a vehicle that is possibly the culprit being caught on camera the truck and its driver have never been identified. The family of the victims is still searching for the truck in question so I thought I would give this case some exposure on a forum they may not have considered. Perhaps some of you web sleuths out there have an inkling of how to track semis. There are a ton of articles online about the incident, I'm going to attach a few including one with a photo of the truck they think may have been involved. A word of warning the family is pursuing legal action against Fiat Crysler for a possible recall issue and the boys basketball coach/Moorhead's Park Christian School for not providing transportation to the tournament so the issue of responsibility gets a bit messy. As far as I can tell though they are still searching for the semi and finding it would still aid in providing justice and closure.
edit: Two quick notes here. First, I want to be very clear and note that without finding the driver we really cant be about the extent of their role in the accident. Second, from what I have read the police have investigated traffic cameras and footage from a nearby weigh station. They have also reached out to numerous trucking companies. So I guess the question is how else could one possibly track the truck? Has anyone heard of novel , or just different, ways to do so?
