Of those listed only two are worth mentioning in my book...
-Denzel Washington - Training Day (2001)
-Uma Thurman - Kill Bill vol1+2 (2003-2004) (primarily the 2nd movie is worth mentioning)
so I voted for those two along with the last option 'my favorite is not listed here' as if I had to name roughly 25 performances of the 2000's, strictly among movies worth mentioning for me, I would pretty much go with the following (IN NO ORDER)...
-Clint Eastwood - Gran Torino (2008)
-Nicolas Cage - Lord of War (2005)
-Kevin Costner - Open Range (2003)
-Robert Duvall - Open Range (2003)
-Jamel Debbouze - Angel-A (2005) (he worked well with Rie Rasmussen as I might even consider putting her on the list)
-Val Kilmer - Felon (2008)
-Johnny Depp - Blow (2001)
-Jude Law - Road to Perdition (2002)
-Anna Kendrick - Up in the Air (2009) (normally I would default to Vera Farmiga since she's The Anomaly but I think Anna Kendrick's general presence really suits this role)
-Kevin Costner - Mr. Brooks (2007)
-Vera Farmiga - Running Scared (2006)
-Daniel Craig - Casino Royale (2006)
-Pierce Brosnan - The Matador (2005) (he worked well with Greg Kinnear as I might even put Kinnear on the list)
-Vin Diesel - A Man Apart (2003)
-Russell Crowe - Gladiator (2000)
-Liam Neeson - Taken (2008)
-Leo Dicaprio - The Aviator (2004)
-Colin Farrell - Phone Booth (2002)
-Christian Slater - He Was a Quiet Man (2007) (this seems to fly off the radar)
-Anthony Hopkins - The World's Fastest Indian (2005)
-Jim Caviezel - The Passion of the Christ (2004)
-Paul Giamatti - Sideways (2004)
-Uma Thurman - Kill Bill Vol 2 (2004)
-Denzel Washington - Training Day (2001)
-Tom Cruise - Valkyrie (2008)
that's pretty much my choices if I got to pick about 25 people or so. NOTE: it's possible I might interchange some of those with some others though but what I listed here pretty much sums up the 2000's for me.
p.s. because like I pretty much mentioned above... while there are good enough performances from other movies I can't nominate a performance if the movie itself does not stand out. so that excludes a lot of others right off the bat as I am only counting movies I score a 7 or higher to qualify for my selections of those who I felt gave a good performance.
Exactly. it's one of only four movies I gave a 1/10.
p.s. because for a movie to score THAT badly for me I got to greatly dislike it as that kind of so-called 'comedy' is the stuff I greatly dislike as it reminds me of Tom Green which I can't stand. but thankfully Tom Green disappeared a long time ago.
