It's 5:38 iπ the morning...girlfriend's asleep. Just having a smoke.
I'm not listening to ChumbaWumba or the complete Grateful Dead catalogue.
This Thursday I plan on having a couple of glasses of Merlot and not listening to Meat Loaf .
Or any Stylistics.

I really haven't been too big on Slipknot in years, I couldn't make it through the last few albums but Unsainted really rekindled my love for them. It feels very in keeping with the Iowa and Vol. III period. It has such a big sound to it and I find the lyrics to be strangely uplifting. I'll definitely buy the album when it's released and hope to see them on tour.
My most recent music kicks have been Miles Davis "Bitches Brew", I must've listened to it 10 times in it's entirety over the course of a few days. I'd just always have it on. Then I went through a Mars Volta tirade and listened to every album over and over. Surprisingly the album I kept going back to was Octahedron, "Since We've Been Wrong" is such a perfect opener, though not exactly the most Mars Volta type song.
From there I launched into a Led Zeppelin kick, which is easy to do after binging on Mars Volta, the track I kept going back to was The Rain Song live version from The Song Remains the Same.
This took me down a rabbit hole of listening to other "descendants of Zeppelin", not the bands trying to be them, but the ones that emulate their ambition while being their own thing, this of course took me back to Mars Volta, then Soundgarden, and eventually leading me to my my recent kick and what I'm listening to right now. "The Distance To Here" by Live.
