As a kid, apricots topped my list. A good apricot is still very special, but they seem to have diminished in flavor, over the last decade, or so. Recently, they've seemed less flavorful, and more "watery."
Lately, I've begun to enjoy nectarines as a "fave." I like them unadorned with sweetener, or cream. In a good year they're glorious, but a few years ago it wasn't such a good season, and you could have played tennis with them. So-far-so-good, in '19.

It used to be black raspberries but I can't find them in the stores so my second choice is Rainier Cherries.

Rhubarb. Except everyone I know here that grows it, couldn't get any this summer. Even the grocery stores didn't have any.

Watermelon on a hot summer day is just one of those sacrosanct warm weather activities that brings me back to my childhood. Refreshing, delicious, healthy, even my dog loves it (although she loves birdshit too so we can't take her word for it).
Mmexis above mentioned peaches. I enjoy a nice peach, but a few years ago my wife and I belonged to one of those CSA farm share groups where you pay for a membership and then pick up a box every week of whatever they harvested from the local farms. There was a 4 week (or so) stretch where each box contained around 6 softball-sized organic white peaches. I never had, and have since never had, peaches that were so juicy and delicious. It almost ruined them for me because no matter where I go, they just aren't as good.

We had so much of it, we had no choice but to just make pies and give them out as gifts.

I also like baked quince, but it's not a summer fruit.

Nuts: I made a booboo, I meant to say fresh figs which were wonderful in Greece, never had good ones since. I don't know why I said dates, the old brain doesn't function as well as it used to.

Have to say, I don't really like figs. Maybe will eat one or two at most. I really like the white ones. We can get figs here in Toronto, from Greece, around the end of August and beginning of September. It's funny, as a person of Greek descent, don't like figs, eggplant, moussaka (eggplant) and not a fan of french fries on my souvlaki. Also don't lie skordalia (garlic mash) or bakaliaro (salt cod)

White peaches. We bought a flat of gorgeous, juicy ones last weekend and have been eating them out of hand, in smoothies, and the night before last we had a delicious white peach crumble. I used homemade coconut granola in the crumb topping. The soggy leftovers were great on this morning's waffles.
