I need to watch that still haven't at all seen it and it seems up my alley. I watched it decades ago and was very disappointed in it. It is quite inferior to "The Third Man" or "Odd Man Out"....

East and West Berlin ... or Communism and Capitalism, is what he's "between..." and of course Claire Bloom and Hildegarde Neff.... . Of Reed's MAN triptych I'd rate it much higher than ODD MAN OUT, which I've never much cared for and thought overrated, and I'd even give it the edge over the sturdy THE THIRD MAN (and for me the ending of THE MAN BETWEEN is even more hearbreaking than Alida Valli walking on by...)..... James Mason is at his homme fatale best as Ivo Kern, people smuggler with a dirty secret in his past, insinuating himself through the shadows of a ruined postwar Berlin; and Claire Bloom the visiting innocent who falls for him, and finds herself mistakenly abducted and trapped behind the Iron curtain. All very moody, thrilling, atmospheric and touching in equal measure.
Some great poster art:

It has had R2 release and I'd say well good enough to risk blind buy.(I can't find free source online) Anyway - hope you enjoy it when you get there!

Excellent - I liked it a little more than Odd Man Out but The Third Man is THE masterpiece of these Reed movies.
