Lights went out at Marlins Park, last night we had a cat delay, tonight a lighting delay! Unbelievable. Giancarlo Stanton hit his first home run of the year tonight.

Hard call with the Braves, they have a lot of young players and are slowly improving but they haven't looked good this year, terrible fielding especially.
Giancarlo Stanton just hit his second HR of the night to put the Fish in the lead!!

cool. wheeler pitches a very good game. loads the bases with 2 out though. so terry brings in robles, and he gives up a GRAND SLAM robles should not be trusted to pitch in big sports. 3 runs now charged to wheeler

Goddamn it, Tazawa just gave up a HR to Inciarte to tie the game. Tazawa has gotten blasted in just about every appearance he's made this year, fuck it. We need to sweep the fucking Braves before going into the 4 game series with the Mets.
Mets-Phils in a good battle as well.

Fuck, Ramos throws a wild pitch then gives up an RBI single. Marlins down 5-4. We need to rally.

That loss hurts, Hairy. We should've won that one, our bullpen, which is supposed to be our strength pitching wise, blew Koehler's lead and the Braves got 4 shutout innings from their pen. No offense aside from Stanton tonight. Hopefully we will rebound tomorrow against the Mets, should be a fun 4 game series.
Going to watch some late night baseball on my MLB package, couple of good late nighters.

cool. is it just me or do the braves look considerably better this year than last? they revamped their team. They have a bunch of retreads which are keeping spots warm for their farmhands, guys like Markakis, Kemp, Dickey, Colon, etc. So far, they have been pretty bad, obviously a small sample size. Where they really will get burned is they have no offensive depth and their bullpen is disgusting. Pinch hitting will be a black hole all year and their bullpen is going to cost them a ton of close games. Tough to win with that going for you.

That makes this loss all the worse, Klaw, since their bullpen is weak while ours is good and it was just the opposite tonight.

Just as a follow-up to my prior post, the Braves do have one of the best hitters in the NL in Freddie Freeman who somehow goes relatively unrecognized by fans as being among the game's elite, most likely because he plays for a bottom-dwelling team that gets little national attention these days. If Matt Kemp can keep his head on straight and give Freeman any sort of protection, his already strong numbers would get a serious boost. I can't imagine Freeman got a single fastball to hit during the last 3 years with the endless parade of 4A schmucks the Braves would throw out there to bat cleanup.
I also really like Dansby Swanson. Looks like a great shortstop and has the tools to be a really versatile, quality hitter who likes to spray the ball all over the field. Great move getting him.

What is up with the Blue Jays? They are 1-8 now. I knew that losing Encarnacion would hurt but wow, their offense is a joke. Bautista and Russell Martin are done IMO, those old geezers need to pick it up, they don't really have a good lead off guy and their bullpen is weak. I knew the pen was a concern but I had no idea the hitting would fall off this badly. They need to pick it up to keep up with the Sox and O's.

agreed, their window of opportunity is closing. they don't have the farm players anymore to make trades
