Among those I've seen make the nomination stage before, a few that spring to mind - the MC5 (60s), Chic (70s), Depeche Mode (80) - would be examples of bands I'd like to see entered.
Two startling omissions for me are singer-songwriters Neil Sedaka and Jackie DeShannon whose contributions to the development of rock music are enormous. Both are in the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, both should be in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame for the sake of the institution

Kraftwerk would be nice.

Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. After Black Sabbath, you won't find two more influential bands in heavy metal.
Priest was nominated, but lost out to Bon Jovi. Yeah I know Bon Jovi sold a lot of records, but Priest deserved the induction more IMO.

Unless things change at the Rock Hall, I doubt it. If Judas Priest and Iron Maiden can't get in, I don't see a lot of hope for other metal bands.

No offense to Def Leppard but it's a joke that they're inducted and not Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.

And Kraftwerk one of the most important and influential bands of all time should definitely be in there.

To hell with the Hall of Fame. They lost me when they let in the Rap/Hip Hop artists. Sorry, no matter how influential Run DMC or Tupak were, they weren't Rock. Why isn't Roy Clark, Ludwig van Beethoven, or Zamfir, the Master of the Pan Flute in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? As a museum, great. The inductees, yawn
