That sounds like an endorsement of the "argumentum ad hominem", described in Wiki as "a fallacious argumentative strategy whereby genuine discussion of the topic at hand is avoided by instead attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument, or persons associated with the argument, rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself".
In other words, the verse is saying that if you are faced with a reasoned argument against some Christian doctrine, you can dismiss it as hollow and deceptive purely on the basis of where it comes from rather than any weakness in the argument itself.

"But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence". 1 Timothy 2:12
Whosoever ... hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God. For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous, Or a man that is brokenfooted, or brokenhanded, Or crookback, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken ... He shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries. Leviticus 21:17-23
Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’” 1 Samuel 15:3
Ye shall not round the corners of your heads. Leviticus 19:27
Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves. Numbers 31:17-18
"Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel." 1 Peter 2:18
‘Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt-offering on one of the mountains that I shall show you.’ Genesis 22:2
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things. Isaiah 45:7 King James Version
"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword" Matt !0:34

Oh the donkey dick verse and the bear killing verse. You atheists love those two. And the other 10 or so verses you repeat over and over and over again. You're obsessed. Well, we were asked to quote bible verses LOL Sorry if the results make you feel uncomfortable... Here's the donkey dick one you mention, for completists: She lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses. Ezekiel 23:20 That still leaves the fun of Jesus cursing fig trees, bears eating people, donkeys talking and the collection of foreskins. All verses quoted have been inspired by God, and are suitable for instruction, obviously.

The verse is warning about false teachers and religious teachings.

The verse is warning about false teachers and religious teachings. Of course. But saying that doesn't even attempt to dispute what I said.

Unless you meant there are “ religious teachings” that are ‘reasoned arguments against some Christian doctrine.’ As you put it. I doubt that’s what you had in mind, though.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and He will reside with them, and they will be His people. And God Himself will be with them. And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

He says the verse warns against false teachings, and it does. No argument there. But what I said deals with the NATURE of that warning. If you tell people they can dismiss an argument because of where it comes from rather than because of any defect in the argument itself, that is an endorsement of the "argumentum ad hominem".

It’s not talking about arguments against Christian doctrine. It’s talking about false teachers deceiving people into believing false worldly religions and philosophies. Paul’s overall point is to fix your thoughts and faith in Christ so as to not miss out on salvation and blessings.

It’s talking about false teachers deceiving people into believing false worldly religions and philosophies. And the verse tells people they'll know those teachings are false because they come from "human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world" - because of where they come from. And that's the essence of the "argumentum ad hominem".

And the verse tells people they'll know those teachings are false because they come from "human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world" - because of where they come from. And that's the essence of the "argumentum ad hominem". If believers have faith that Christianity is the truth then it follows that any religious and philosophical teaching that contradicts or deviates from that is false. Let’s not forget as Christians we believe Paul wrote these words under the inspiration of God, and God cannot lie.

Exodus 27... 9 And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen of an hundred cubits long for one side: 10 And the twenty pillars thereof and their twenty sockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver. 11 And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars and their twenty sockets of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver. 12 And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten. 13 And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits. 14 The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three. 15 And on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three. 16 And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.
Hmmmm, nothing happening yet.
