Reflections in a Golden Eye is a weird one, but interesting. The Night of the Following Day is pretty dark, but I kinda liked it.

This thread offers reasons why Brando had to audition for The Godfather and why he wasn't the highest paid actor in it.

Best in the 60's ? None ! For me, he could … make that should … have retired in the late 50's before making the abysmal One Eyed Jacks. Except for a brief revival via The Godfather and The Freshman it's sad watching him on screen. His performance and the $$$ he was paid for Superman are just …..

Although he bombed out in the 60s, I like most of his movies, especially -
Mutiny on the Bounty One-Eyed Jacks The Chase
Only A Countess from Hong Kong and Candy are really terrible.

IMHO it was Brando that was terrible - the film itself not half as bad as its rep- a curiously airless and dated throwback to 30s romcoms, which needed a Jack Lemmon or a Franchot Tone. No problem with the leading lady though... I'm with you on CANDY.

Sophia was the only good thing about A Countess from Hong Kong

I remember my Dad always said "What Brando films from the 1960's?"
I guess not saying anything is better in some cases.

Mutiny on the Bounty is good as a spectacle, Bedtime Story is reasonably funny.

"abysmal" One Eyed Jacks ? What you talk'n about, Bat. That was a great western with a revenge element that could not be anticipated. A cute Mexican girl...a buddy movie.

kijii I have tried to like it several times BUT it just does not appeal (to me) on any level. Funny thing is, it seems to have gone public domain and I have like 5 copies of the fool thing in various collections and compilations of movies. I remember my Dad always said "What Brando films from the 1960's?" I guess not saying anything is better in some cases. This

there should be thread about films rejected by BRANDO:
BEN-HUR (1959) LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (1962) DOCTOR ZHIVAGO (1965) BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID (1969) RYAN'S DAUGHTER (1970) DELIVERANCE (1972) FAT CITY (1972)
jeez! what was the man thinking? he could have become a greater legend than he already is.
