I've been listening to songs recorded by John Fahey. I was unfamiliar with his work till Nels Cline, Kristin Hersh and Thurston Moore turned me on to it. I'm enjoying listening to his early records in particular. He performed traditional songs, covers and songs he'd written. I used informative blogs to conduct a bit of research. This was helpful to me.
'Wine And Roses'
'Impressions Of Susan'
'The Yellow Princess'
'Dance Of The Inhabitants Of The Palace'

John Fahey's certainly no slouch, but I prefer Leo Kottke.
