Cowboys are closer to the Chicago Bulls and Montreal Canadians. Boys and Bulls ruled the roost in the 90's and haven't done diddly dick since then, and the Canadians are another multi time champion team who hasn't won a championship since 1993, when Dallas started their 90's dynasty.
If you wanna compare fan base and sports media slobbering all over their respective shafts, then yes, the Yankees and Cowboys are more alike. At least the Yankees have won a title in the last decade. Cowboys haven't won anything since Bill Clinton's first term in office.

The Cowboys are the Yankees of football when you consider they are "America's Team". But I don't think the Cowboys or Yankee players are any more arrogant than any other team.

Yes. The classic bandwagon, no knowledge, fan always seems to be a fan of the Cowboys, Lakers, and Yankees, even if they do not live in LA, Dallas, or New York and never have. At least the Lakers and Yankees have been relevant in this century.

Yes in the sense that they're both probably the most internationally recognizable team in their respective sports. At least the Yankees can boast the most titles in the history of their league. The Cowboys are tied for second place and haven't won it all in over 20 years.
