Yep. Only problem is, that sucks. How so? Elaborate, please... It seems haphazard. Peter disappears from your second act altogether. He comes back in the third act to meet the real villain who has no established reason to dislike him.

Are they ending it early or just restructuring it now Feige is "Too Busy" for Spidey? Like they cant actually do that can they? Disney owes Sony 2 more films right? Though without Kevin at the helm they may not want to stick with Disney incase they are all salty and shit.
Anyone considered what if Marvel can pull MJ from the Spidey films, she isn't Mary Jane after all, so is she a new creation? if so can Marvel block her being used without the MCU involvement? Be funny to see Michelle pop up in multiple comics to establish her as a "Marvel" character and not a Spidey character towards that end.
The deal is over as of now. Without a last-minute compromise, Spider-Man 3 will not be set in the MCU and won't feature any Disney-created characters. As far as I can tell, no one owes anyone anything in this arrangement. Disney and Sony never planned this far ahead, which is shortsighted on both their parts. Sony is going to make Spider-Man movies with Tom Holland that disregard the MCU world-building previously established in the last two films. Remember that time Peter went to Germany to help Tony Stark fight the Secret Avengers in Civil War? No? That's okay, in Spider-Man 3 neither will he. Get the picture? Mary Jane is a part of Spider-Man's retinue. Sony can use her regardless of how she is referred to and who plays her. Sony has complete dominion over the character in the cinematic context. Miles Morales was created after Marvel and Sony made their initial deal. In fact, some conjecture that the character exists because Marvel tried to create a workaround of the ironclad Sony/Spider-Man film license. Guess what? Because Miles goes by the name Spider-Man, Sony owns his film rights too. But she isn't Mary Jane, that's what I meant, she goes by MJ but she is technically a new character, if Disney mandated Michelle becomes integrated in various titles as I think other Spidey character have been over time then could Disney argue she isn't a Spidey character to block her use in a movie, frivolous and stupid as it would be doing so would cause Sony to either not use the character or have to postpone the movie till the lawsuit settled, you know if Disney wanted to be petty they could be real petty at this point.
But onto the number of movies I have been hearing that the deal was for 6 movies in total with Engame & IW counting as one movie for Spidey due to his limited usage in Endgame, which would mean the deal still has more left in it to go, this wasn't apparently normal renewal negotiations but Disney wanting to renegotiate the current deal only 2/3rd of the way through it.

I don't think he meant Peter disappears altogether but that the focus just shifts off of him to flesh out the other main characters in Eddie & Venom, I mean JJ was never a focus of the Raimi movies but he was in them throughout even when the story had little to do with him.

From what I understand, the deal was in fact only set to last until FFH. Amy Pascal even suggested as much back in 2017. Kevin Feige obviously must have been hoping the deal would be extended, hence why FFH ended on a cliffhanger, but a full trilogy with Marvel was apparently never something that Sony agreed to. Tom Holland supposedly does still have at least one more solo film left in his contract, but thatβs a separate deal.

If Disney pulled MJ, Sony would likely use it as an excuse to reintroduce a more traditional MJ.

That's the process of writing.
My point is that it can be done. A team up movie can be done where its explained how the symbiote joins with Spidey, then goes to Eddie, they fight, but then peace to fight whoever was the real villain all along.
I can almost guarantee it's going to happen. Spidey has no one else to team up with now. Its all solo movies and Venom from here out.
