I love this YouTube channel, and they recently did a video about the lost city of Akrotiri on the island of Santorini in Greece. It is apparently a Bronze age settlement thought to have been home to a Minoan culture, but one day the entire city just up and disappeared. Archaeologists have been digging at this site for decades now, and haven't found a single human skeleton or even animal skeleton for that matter, even though these people were a highly advanced civilization that actually had plumbing in some of their homes and multiple story structures, amongst other advanced things. Strange that there is no cemetery or anything like that. In addition, the only "valuable" found was a solid gold figurine of an Ibis... what does this mean and why would that be the only thing that they left? I don't know, this whole video has just left me with so many questions that I can't find answers to online so I'd love to hear what you guys think. What do you think happened to the civilization? Where did they go? Why aren't there any bodies anywhere near the city when it once had a population of thousands? Could this have been Atlantis? It also helps if you just watch the video to get a fuller understanding like I did. It's only 13 minutes long, one of their shorter productions but a highly recommended watch! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp8ktKvP9Zs&t=480s

I watched a video about Santorini quite a long time ago so my memory of it isn't that great, but what I do remember is that the people on the Island had time to evacuate before the volcano erupted. That would explain the lack of bodies. Still, I will finish watching the video you posted and then get back to you on what I think.

Maybe they went home first before the flooding occurred.
