Yoplait puts out a line of French-style yogurt, called "Oui." (Whether, it's truly French-style, or not, is anybody's guess. But I like it.) It's sold in 5 ounce (141 gram), glass jars that have a graceful shape, and just beg to be saved for storage of anything from food items ... spices/bacon grease, etc. ... to hardware, like screws/nails. Anything. The tops of the jars are heavy foil, that you pull off, and discard. They're not reusable, which means that there were no secure lids for them, if what was stored required a solid cover. I texted Yoplait, when I first discovered "Oui," and they couldn't help me. I've scoured hardware stores, and kitchen stores, looking for plastic lids that would fit. Nada. Holding out hope, I've saved many jars. And, today, I learned that Yoplait has begun online selling plastic lids to fit the jars. (Profit motive?? You be the judge. ) I would venture a guess so, given that they're sold in packets of 4, for $3.99. But, I sent for some. Now, I just hope that I can find enough things to store in them. Hey, I told you that it was obscure. www.ouibyyoplait.com/

When I was in college, Dannon yogurt tops were thick waxed paper with these inserts. I had a whole wall full of them, and would buy flavors just to get the different inserts and colors.

Huh...I have always seen these, but apparently not really seeing them. Never realized they were glass jars. Yea, might be losing my head....

Wal-Mart around here gets all the 'exotic' stuff that the little grocery store doesn't, so no surprise they sell Oui, our little grocery store started carrying it too...and our store, I know some people are gonna go 'eww gross that's disgusting' on this, but our store will collect all the dairy, and meat, etc., that's about to reach its date and put them in a pile marked 'reduced', get rid of them before they expire, and a couple months back they had a few jars of Oui reduced for about 70 cents instead of $1.50 a jar, so I picked one up to try, it wasn't bad but I can't really say I care for it, not bitter but not sweet either.

I, too, first saw "Oui," on significant sale at Grocery Outlet Bargain Markets ... it was about 70 cents/jar, as you mentioned. And, as I said, I do like it. I just noticed the confirmation, from Yoplait, about my order for the lids. Evidently, I inadvertently "clicked" on something twice. I THOUGHT that I had ordered 5 sets of 4 lids. Oops ... I doubled the order. 40 lids are headed my way. If I can't return some of them, my friends/neighbors have no idea of the "EAT OUI," campaign that they're in for!
