Saw him in this and KNEW / HOPED he was going to turn into something big ! Scott Glenn IMDb link

Kudos to James Bridges for one of many great decisions (and pushing a member of Roger Corman's stable, who in turn has helped out others who were there with him).
That still alone tells me at least one thing : on-screen charisma.

Scott Glenn fought the GARGOYLES. Did he win? Sadly I never saw that movie (though I've heard great things from tv horror movie fans for years).

It was always the cult fave on the old imdb horror board with 'Trilogy Of Terror' when it came to voting on favourite '70s tv horror movies, which led me to seek out the zuni doll.

The costumes were by Stan Winston who did Aliens, Predator etc. The gargoyles were very well done-especially the lead one. They cleverly used slow motion to make them appear more otherworldly, but the costumes were so realistic that it didn't harm it. I am surprised they never did a sequel.

More reason to seek it out. Thanks for the factual information.

Scott Glenn fought the GARGOYLES. 1972 James Reeger : [very bad-boy, looking her over] So you and your old man, you're not afraid of them gar-things, huh? Diana Boley : [cooly, looking back] Gargoyles are a scientific fact. And they're no more dangerous than a high school drop-out on a motorcycle.

And in the same year Sam Elliot who I get confused with Scott Glenn was dealing with Frogs and Joan Van Ark.

Alan Rudolph called Scott Glenn one of America's great actors (he's pictured here with buddy Keith Carradine)

I re-watched a couple of his films recently and I usually come away enjoying his performances, especially the effort he puts into his more physical roles. They were Man on Fire (1987) and Night of the Running Man (1995). I think he’s great in both. In ‘Man On Fire’ he brings a vulnerable and burnt out quality to his character with touching chemistry with his child co-star. I’m pretty much in the minority that prefers 80s version over the 2004 Denzel Washington film. ![](https://cdn10.bigcommerce.com/s-x8dfmo/products/10567/images/33616/Scott-Glenn-%2526-Brooke-Adams-in-Man-on-Fire-1987-Premium-Photograph-and-Poster-1008822__59147.1432431282.1280.1280.jpg?c=2) While ‘Night of the Running Man’ he’s terrifically chameleon-like in his hitman role. So natural in changing his persona on a dime from cool-as-ice to downright menacing. Oh, and how about those knife skills. It’s a sorely underseen Mark L. Lester action-thriller. Like his character in the 1988 film ‘Off Limits’ (which also starred Fred Ward), it looks like in real life he really walks the talk. GQ - Scott Glenn is a 75-Year-Old Knife-Fighting, Spear-Fishing Madman
