Looking for a possible Italian or Spanish short film which takes place during the Renaissance. A man claimed to be the resurrected Jesus is taken to interrogation by a priest or something like that.
"Jesus" doesn't speak so the priest-like man is having a monologue for 20-30 minutes of calling him a fraud until "Jesus" speaks. He sorts of lighten up with a halo and I don't remember if he said that he actually was Jesus but it was insinuated. The priest was left in shock while "Jesus" either faded away or left the room.

Thanks for spoiling my Easter weekend by dragging religion into it.

it sounds like an adaptation of "The Grand Inquisitor", which is a chapter of Dostoevsky's "The Brothers Karamazov" and which was also published separately. Not Spanish or Italian, but could it be this movie, with J. Gielgud as the Inquisitor? www.youtube.com/watch?v=om6HcUUa8DIIf not, there are a couple of movies concerning that story.

Oh, I forgot to write that it was from the 2000s. But it seems to be an adaption of that I'm looking for then
