I wonder if she'd even bother. I know she's got that Charlie's Angels and Underwater up next but she may just not have interest in the superhero genre.
TEXT:
In an interview with Variety in support of Seberg, a film Mackie is starring in alongside Stewart, the actor suggested that his co-star should play a gay female take on Captain America.
"I think [Stewart] should be the gay female Falcon Captain America," Mackie said.
For a bit of context, earlier this week Stewart opened up in an interview with Bazaar and talked about some of her experiences, including one in which she was told that if she stopped with the PDA regarding her girlfriend, she could get a big-budget film -- such as a Marvel movie.
"I have fully been told, 'If you just like do yourself a favor, and don't go out holding your girlfriend's hand in public, you might get a Marvel movie,'" Stewart said. "I don't want work with people like that."
In the Variety interview Stewart -- who doesn't really assign a label to her sexuality -- clarifies that cited Marvel simply as an example of "a big conglomerate-y type thing"
"I'm sure they would love to hire the gay kids to be superheroes," Stewart added.

She still doesn't say who if anyone actually said that to her.

Since when does that matter? It's 2019, characters should be created and actors chosen based on their sexuality or personal/political beliefs. Mackie apparently isn't alone. This writer is trying to make this a thing too. I hope she's not in a Marvel movie specifically because there are people who want her in it because she's bi/dating a girl. I don't want my movies written like that. I want to stories to unfold however the writers and directors intended, not because of activist journalists and actors. Look at the headline of the article: "Let Taika Waititi direct Kristen Stewart in a movie, you cowards." Who is this pussy writer even talking to? There's no movement to keep Stewart - or any bi actress - out of Marvel movies. His whole argument is a logical fallacy.

I think she's making the whole thing up for attention. Also, if Marvel hires her now it looks like pandering. Is she referring to herself as one of 'the gay kids?' Because she's almost 30. I don't really have a strong opinion of her one way or the other as an actor, but this comment seems like a stunt.

Personally I am not convinced Kristen Stewart is actually action heroine material at all, the new Charlie's Angels looks pretty weak and looks to be a dud across the board and the 'warrior woman' aspect of her Snow White felt pretty forced.
