I still think the biggest chip on Tom Brady and Bill Belichick’s shoulders is coming shy of 1 game of going undefeated in the 07-08 season. Despite winning 3 more super bowls since then that game still haunts me as a Pats fan. The Pats looked great in their opener against the Steelers, and adding Antonio Brown is potentially gonna make them even better. So do you think they have a legitimate shot of going undefeated this year taking care of business on something they couldn’t over 10 years ago?

No, and as a Pats fan I hope they don't go for it. Take care of business week to week and make sure you peak at the right time. The 2007 squad lost steam as the season went on and were either mentally worn down or scared shitless in that Super Bowl. This team looks good on paper but let's not worry about going undefeated after one week of football.

Wouldn't it be a howl if they ran the table and lost the AFC Championship game to the Raiders?

It’s a possibility, but unlikely.

You've got to be 1-0 to get to 16-0...

They play the Eagles this year so no they won’t. I know you're a Philly guy, so you may just being a good fan, but your post brings up a good point. The Pats have to play the NFC East so that means the Eagles and Cowboys, either of whom could beat New England if all goes right. And no matter how bad the Giants are, let's face it, Eli owns Tommy.

I do want them to go for it. Another regular ol' World Championship would be sooo boring.

I just knew they were going to thankfully lose to NY in that SB. When I saw NY find a way to beat my Packers with of course a game changing int from Brint, I could tell they wanted it more. And they used that momentum going into the SB to kill the Pats perfect season. Yay!! To see what I mean, watch this thing of beauty! So fucking awesome and way more awesome than every single Pats play since they cheat all the fucking time. Giants won it fair and square. Something no Cheaters fan can ever claim at any time for any win from their Cheatriots. Fuck the Cheatriots.

Another obvious bait thread for AH Fan... So the question is: How has he managed to stay away?

Another obvious bait thread for AH Fan... So the question is: How has he managed to stay away? He disappeared for quite a while, briefly resurfaced recently and now posts very sporadically. I'm assuming he has limited access to the internet in whatever facility they're keeping him in these days.

It’s a possibility, but unlikely. ^this I guess they are more focused on the endgame (0> winning the Super Bowl), and would rather lose a game* if it serves the overall strategy, then to go for a perfect run no matter what. *Like providing key players some additional rest if the last regular game(s) become(s) meaningless when the play-offs should have been secured already. Or they just play with 80% to avoid any major injuries...stuff like that. In European football it's a very common practice (to bench player in meaningless games) which often does not pay off imho. They have some rest/lesser risk of an injury, but they also miss the best kind of training and also often losing some track. They will play for the (end-)result, not for the spectacle or statistics.
