OMG, Petrolino, you never cease to amaze me! Except for the Charlie Brown piece I've never heard of any of these groups. I listened to all (haven't finished The International Sweethearts of Rhythm yet, though I will), but I love them all, especially, The Ingenues!! They're all wonderful!!! I'm really blown away. Thank you so much for the introduction. I swear I was born in the wrong century. Wow!! Thanks, spiderwort. I had to seek out tolerable videos in terms of static / fuzz.
I just wish the picture quality could match the dubious sound quality on some, but given the age, I figure they're a treat for anybody interested.

I so wish there was film of the Waltzing girls of Vienna. It’s the all girl Orchestra led by Alma Rose. She was the daughter of Leonard Rose, concert master of the Vienna Philharmonic, and niece of Gustav Mahler. She got her father safely to England after Austria was joined to Germany. In the early 40’s she was captured in France and deported to Auschwitz where she led the Women’s Orchestra that was the subject of Playing For Time. Alma was played by Jane Alexander who closely resembles her. There are photos of the Waltzing girls , but no film or recordings. forbiddenmusicdotorg.files.wordpress.com/2018/01/c3b6nb_rosc3a9al2.jpg

Somehow I thought Dave Brubeck was involved in the Charlie Brown's. Don't mind being wrong!
