How did they turn out in the oven, first time I ever had sdt was from a sandwich company and they had a nice salty/sweet taste. Supermarket ones are covered in oil, so they dont taste as great as the ones i had.

I've seen recipes, which are really just "method" videos. I'm not particularly wild about them, so I don't have any plans to do it.
It doesn't appear to be difficult.
-- Slice Roma tomatoes, lengthwise, and remove the seeds. Place them, cut side up, on a baking sheet. Drizzle with EVOO, and salt generously. Then, bake.
Variations include placing the cut tomatoes on a bed of your favorite herb(s), or other favorite flavoring. Some call for a very low oven, and 6-8 hours of cooking. One called for (I think) 20 minutes, in a 450 oven, then turn the oven OFF, and let the tomatoes sit in the cooling oven for 3 hours.
Actually, I've never seen a video that used the sun ... only an oven-dried method. I don't know how many, if any, commercial entities really use the sun, or if they all use ovens. (My guess is that most of them use ovens.)
