I re-watched Rosemary's Baby for the third time (my last viewing was back in 2015) and it's a psychological horror masterpiece. Mia Farrow perhaps never looked better and her performance registered paranoia and empathy. The Castevets, particularly Minnie (played by Ruth Gordon), were just full-on creepy. I did love the claustrophobic camera shots.

One thing I was thinking of doing is posting where I saw each movie ( i.e. Netflix, YouTube, etc) which might be of help to anyone looking for suggestions and where to find the flick. Interesting that you didn't find Happy Death Day to be horror. It is basically Groundhog Day the slasher movie version. Happy Death Day 2U on the other hand is not a horror movie imo. It is a sci-fi comedy.

Just caught the 2010 remake of I Spit On Your Grave. I'm usually against remakes but I was bit curious about this one, and I needed to watch a FTV so I thought what the hell. Wow, just wow. This could actually be considered more raw, nasty, and brutal than the original! The filmmakers certainly didn't pull any punches with all the graphic carnage. Not saying I actually liked it, but it was definitely work a look. I Spit on Your Grave remake is one of the few remakes I think is miles ahead of the original. It expedited the rape scene and emphasized the revenge aspect...with a little flavor of our protagonist becoming a cliche slasher killer. I loved it.

Too intimidated to watch it, or the original because I can’t do lengthy rape scenes.

I might give the remake a go...I hate the original film. I love revenge films but had issues with the rape scenes in the original. Completely understandable. And just for the record the rape scene in the remake is still pretty graphic...but I personally found it less gratuitous than the original. It certainly didn’t seem to last as long as the original, which is one of the reasons I enjoyed the remake more. But it’s still a fairly graphic rape/revenge story so it’s definitely not for everyone’s tastes.

Rape scenes are always a problem but with the original film I just found it too prolonged, too relentless...I understand the view that some have that it it was filmed the way it was to emphasise the horror the victim went through and of the act in general...but 100 minutes of film and 30 of that is rape...it's just too much

It’s gonna take a lot for me to watch those movies.

Delete that fecker than! Thanks Pal. Yeah good choice! There's two on the Horror channel, Thursday morning after midnight, that I think are good though, and if you haven't seen them: Outcast (trailer) This is slow and a bit trippy but great actors in it and not a bad story if you're into witchcraft in council estates. A Christmas Horror Story (trailer) This is an anthology movie with William Shatner as a DJ in the wraparound story. Outcast - Good call, actually all you had to say was Nesbitt is in it and I was in! I always like it when I can trumpet low budget British and Irish films, and this gives me a chance. The IMDb rating of 5.3 is insulting. I'll be doing my latest round of reviews when I get off work at the weekend and I'll review it favourably.

I must say, I really liked the Childs Play remake and the Buddi song has been stuck in my head for the last few days.
Midsommar was excellent, I love these slow burn horrors.

Watched Demons 2 again (rewatched 1 earlier this year so I was in the mood). The setting isn't as cool, but I think this one might top the original for me. The scene in the elevator shaft is awesome.
Also rewatched Dark City. Never thought of it as a horror movie - still dont - but my rule is if it's listed as Horror somewhere (in this case RT) I'll count it. And honestly I was in the mood after seeing The Matrix in 4DX. Sorry to those who think the latter stole Dark City's thunder, I still find The Matrix the way better film. But this was fairly imaginitive and interesting in its own right. I dont know what the hell Kiefer Sutherland was trying to do with that performance, though.

Both Demons and Demons 2 are among my favorite films. The 2nd doesn't beat the first for me but I really enjoyed both. Thanks for reminder as I may watch both again for challenge.

The Invisible Man (1933) Terror Level: Medium I had to take a break from those Ted V. Mikels films and I just happened to have this on Blu-Ray but I've yet to see it. And I really have been sleeping on this film because it was really good. Claude Rains was a very convincing maniac and the special effects aged well. And the things he did were so menacing. I was thinking of picking Bride of Frankenstein for my marathon but I might choose this instead. 8/10.

Watched The Last Exorcism and it wasn't until the end of the movie that I realized I had seen this movie before. Very forgettable film.
Exorcism movies are really hit or miss for me. I would recommend Exorcism of Emily Rose to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. Idk why it wasn't reviewed well as that movie is very well made with an interesting story and good/great acting. Plus it gives you some creepy moments.

Ticked off my 16 FTVs with "The House of Exorcism"... which is pretty nuts, in an interesting way. Apparently, it is a re-editing of "Lisa and the Devil", with the added exorcism bits. Anyone seen both films? What's the difference? And why does Telly Savalas always crop up in one of my October Challenge FTVs 🤷♀️ When he is on screen, all I can think is 'Why is Kojak in this film?' I’ve only ever watched the ‘Lisa and the Devil’ cut. I remember it being rather slow, dreamlike and disorientating. I think it was my first Mario Bava film too. There was a thread created about it; imdb2.freeforums.net/thread/150242/lisa-devil-house-exorcism
