This one cuts deep. The core of the Grateful Dead, the pure source was the friendship of Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter. They were friends before anyone else from that scene had even met each other. Everything that came afterwards all started from the seed of that original friendship.
And God, what a unique, headstrong, fascinating man Robert Hunter was, a true individualist in a world where individuality is quickly fading away.
It's a hand me down, the thoughts are all broken.
Perhaps they're better left unsung
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air!
RIP, big guy.....I hope you and Jerry are gonna play a couple of tunes when you get there.
