Yeah, I don't do that either. if I do, I roll them inwards since it looks better that way with jeans or more dress looking types of pants since it does not look obviously bad like that vs when people roll them outward where you can see in the inside of the jeans and it's obviously weird looking vs how the outside of the pants normally look. but one thing back in the day I would never do now but did as a kid (say around 10-12 years old) is wear cut off jeans as shorts. looks like crap. but since I was a kid and that was around very early 1990's or so, it was probably okay at that time.

Kids I can see doing it. If it’s apparent you’re not growing any taller, yeah.

I would only do that if I was going to walk in water and didn't want to get them wet.

I see it as a matter of gender, length and shoes.
For guys, it's a no-no. Forget it! (See photo of James Dean)
For women who are wearing casual flats, or espadrilles, with the jeans rolled a few inches above the ankle, it's a "doable" look. Jeans should never be rolled/folded to full length, it only works with a "cropped" look, where the fold realistically blends with the length. The shoes must not be running/athletic shoes.

I remember in the '80s a lot of kids my age would fold and then roll the jeans at the bottom with a pair of BK Knights high tops. I also remember "jams" which were basically short pants with very loud prints on them... Both of those would be a fashion faux pas nowadays I'm sure. Unless late '80s fashion is back in style that is.

gameboyI mean taking jeans and making them into shorts with scissors. I am not saying it's the worst thing in the world but it's not a image I would portray now as they just seem cheap compared to more properly made shorts since properly made shorts are not frayed etc. you actually don't like wearing shorts as a guy in hot weather? ; if so, I would disagree as I (I am a guy) definitely wear shorts in the summer over pants due to the heat alone.
