The already virtually relegated Os must win versus Hartlepool in East London right now. Currently, with about an hour gone, it's 2-1 to Orient with Oates giving 'Pool an early lead but Orient fighting back with two first half goals with strikes from Adeboyejo and Abrahams. Draw or lose this and it's goodbye Orient from the Football League. Considering they finished 8th in League Two last season this current crisis must have come as something of a shock to their fans as the realization dawns on them and the club.

And you can't ignore the foot of the Championship where visitors Burton Albion (21st) are doing a proper number on Gianfranco Zola's Birmingham (19th) Two-nothing to Albion and this could really shake it up down at the bottom.

In the names of Stan Bowles, Ian Bowyer, Jimmy Bloomfield and others, Leyton Orient have held on today but by my calculations I believe this stay of execution would be withdrawn should they lose their next game, against Crewe.
Meanwhile Birmingham are dragged into a real dogfight after being undone by fellow strugglers Burton Albion who come away from St Andrews with three impossibly valuable points.
