I don't think anybody knows. People connect his disappearance to his depressive and self-destructive tendencies. I was a big fan of the band and consider 'The Holy Bible' to be a masterpiece - I've carved letters in my arm, done stupid things when I was young, got a good few scars and cigarette burns. Nowadays, you can talk about all this, but back then it wasn't much discussed in the open.
