This futuristic hotel for the priveliged in the old Soviet turned up in a few family oriented movies that I watched but offcourse have forgot the names of, that state Swedish TV used to show as matinee's during the winter seasons in the 1970s. I now know it's somewhere along the north side of The Black Sea and it wasn't just a matte painting.

How about this woman, Aeltia (Аэлита) The Queen of Mars:

Yuliya Solntseva 1901-1989, she only acted in four movies and then directed another ten or so movies between 1939 and 1980.

Yuliya's last movie translated to Life in Three Dimensions 1980

I always find coastal buildings like that fascinating. Like they're suspended in air, almost.

'Aelita' (1924) is sometimes mentioned as a motivating factor by old Soviet scientists in documenties about the space race. Some of them recall seeing it as children and the impact it had on them.
