Super Mario 64 is easily THE best Mario game to date. i played it back in the day when it was new which at that time i would have been 16-17 years old. NOTE: I play it on my computer using this graphics update... forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-super-mario-64-hd-texture-pack-v1-4-1-2017-06-21 ; it runs from the Dolphin v5.0 emulator. basically makes Super Mario 64 into HD for modern TV's etc and you even get a proper widescreen view instead of the old 4:3 stuff. so basically it still looks old school but modern at the same time. p.s. goo.gl/yY9WUr ; with that (should makes things easier for people here) all you need is Dolphin emulator (i.e. dolphin-emu.org/ ) and that texture pack (in the link above) and set it up properly and your good to go ; only catch is you probably need 8GB of RAM on your computer for everything to run optimally especially if your going to cache everything in system memory but it appears you don't have to do that but i did and it works fine for me but i got 8GB of RAM on my computer. my computer specs are... i3-2120 CPU/Radeon 5670 512MB(i plan on upgrading this to a Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB soon once the price drops back to $135-140 as it's currently $145-150)/8GB of RAM etc. EDIT: got the Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB a little while ago now and it was a huge upgrade over my previous graphics card. worth every penny. runs GTA 5 typically around 40-50fps most of the time with some 60fps and sometimes into the 30's but i have not seen it go below the low 30's from what MSI Afterburner shows me and that was all MAX graphics @ 1080p with MSAA turned off.

I'm assuming you mean Breath of The Wild.
If so the new Zelda game is better. It's not even a fair comparison. There's so much more you can do on Switch games than 64 games.
It's like trying compare Goldeneye to Battlefeild 1. Goldeneye is certainly the innovative title of the two but it doesn't hold up to today's triple A titles.
Super Mario 64 is a great game. I played it last year and I went back to it because it was fun. But if you don't think it has flaws as an early 3D platformer you gotta be kidding yourself. It seems like all of those old 3rd person 3D games had awkward camera angles. Some like Resident Evil actually made use of it.
Breath of The Wild on the other hand is near perfect. It's not the greatest game of all time. But it is a system seller.
