I had that problem over a couple of weeks ago. First, pages would scroll in jerky fashion or freeze up. Opening a page with embedded videos was nearly impossible. Later a pop-up box appeared which said something about the name of the site didn't match the name on the security certificate, whatever that means. And I couldn't get rid of the warning without shutting down my pc. Ctrl-Alt-Delete would not work. I haven't downloaded anything recently. I thought maybe it was my Windows 7 because they are no longer providing updates. It lasted a couple of days then it stopped. I don't understand what happened. Mongo only pawn in game of life.

?? It can develop some glitch for a shirt time but eventually returns to normal. Hope your browser is up to date. I use Linux so usually don't face problems but I can understand that window users might.

It's not Win 7 because I am running Win 10. However, I use Internet Explorer rather than the new Chrome program. I guess I'll keep shutting down my pc when it happens. Thanks for the info, Sulla!

Working fine for me.
However, I am now getting ultra loud ads that autoplay.
I think this is irony at play since I defended the use of ads here.

That's good to know. I'm also using an older version of IE. That may be the source. I tried deleting all my temp internet files and cookies. That might have helped some.

It was the two ads at the bottom of nearly every page. It was for a new movie, I forget which one. That lasted for a few days before stopping.

No. Of course not. No one is getting a security alert for this website. It's not possible that anyone is getting a security alert for this website. It's all just lunatic conspiracy theory.

Oh, it's happening. I blame Firefox and its chemtrails. They stole the idea from the Russians. There's even a Clint Eastwood movie about how it all started.

Working fine for me. However, I am now getting ultra loud ads that autoplay. I think this is irony at play since I defended the use of ads here. This website does not use audio ads, popups, or other annoyances."we do not sanction these types of ads. No matter what site/forum you visit on the internet this can happen if these ads make it into the rotation of the ad providers. We take violation of our ad criteria very seriously and do our best to eradicate them as soon as we are informed." - Scott, ProBoards Admin support.proboards.com/thread/579224/advertisements-over-audioAt the moment, the forum seems to be ad-free and the setting says it will be remain ad-free until April 23. I don't know if it was an Easter gift from PB or a friendly member paid for it, but I'm not complaining. In any case, when there are ads, there is also a "report ads" link at the bottom of every page. Please use that to report the annoying ads that slip through the cracks, especially the ultra loud ads that autoplay.

Admin Thanks for the info. I'll certainly report it if it happens again. I cut back on posting for a couple of days because of that. I was afraid it was gonna be permanent.
