I myself really liked it (and still do very much like it) when I saw it for the very first time which was at the Movie Theater on the day that it came out.
"SCREAM 3" was actually also the first "SCREAM" Movie that I saw at the Movie Theater (I didn't see the First 2 Movies until after they had already come out on VHS).

It was a perfectly acceptable entry in the series. Had some amusing cameos and was the logical next step in the meta feel they were going for. Very of its time though, as meta films inherently are. Last time I watched I was expecting to see a scene where Shannen Doherty pulled off a ghostface mask to reveal a monkey underneath, but that was in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

I remember vignettes. I'd seen the first film but not the second, so I wondered where Randy was. I also thought Dewey had died in the first film and was surprised he was back. The ghost mom nightmare scared the shit out of me. And when the killer revealed himself, I thought "who the hell is that?"

Roman's name was Roman. That can't be a coincidence.

‘Who brings a baby to the movies?’
Because someone brought a baby to see Scream 3, and it spent most of the movie fussing and crying.

Definitely that it was a significant step down from Scream 2, but still pretty enjoyable, which is pretty much how I feel about it today.
You know you're in troubled waters when your movie opens with a Creed song. 🤢🤮

Roman's name was Roman. That can't be a coincidence. What do you mean ? Roman was a director with very dark personal tendencies, which I’m thinking was a reference to Polanski.
