Terry Moore (Los Angeles, California)
Terry Moore's always busy and always honing her craft. She knows a number of figures on the L.A. underground and has worked with some interesting musicians in recent times. She has several new creative projects in the works.

Carroll Baker (Johnstown, Pennsylvania)
Carroll Baker has continued to write in her retirement. Like Debbie Harry, she's spoken recently of possible therapeutic aspects to putting pen to paper. This year, Baker's been at The Lambs and The Friars Club, recently attending a screening of 'Baby Doll' (1956) for a sit-down interview with film historian Foster Hirsch. Her latest novel is the murder mystery, 'Who Killed Big Al?' (published 25th February, 2019).

Piper Laurie (Detroit, Michigan)
Piper Laurie has been out and about in Detroit, one year on from the release of her latest picture 'White Boy Rick' (2018). No news yet on what's next, though rumours are circulating that she has been burning the midnight oil.

Carroll Baker--interesting---I have never seen anything she did in the 1950s although I caught up with her in the giallo phase.
In Orgasmo (I think there are two similar titled films starring her) she gets a note that says
"welcome home you tramp."
I'd be curious to know if her relocation to Italy was prompted by discussions with Raf Vallone on the set of her HARLOW movie.

I think a number of factors played in to her decision to move to Europe. Contract disputes, suspensions and studio reprimands left her jaded (she enjoyed certain freedoms offered by theatre and independent film). Her family situation also changed. She learnt Italian, and coming from a Polish Catholic bakground, may have been drawn to cultural aspects. While attending the Venice Film Festival in the 1960s, she met experimental filmmaker Marco Ferreri who knew of her background in dance; Ferreri offered Baker the lead role in his controversial new production, 'The Harem' (1967), and she accepted.

Three beauties, still thriving today. I'm especially fond of Carroll Baker and Piper Laurie. All have lived life on their terms, and I admire them for that. Long may they live. I'm happy they're all still working at the things they love (writing now, in Carroll Baker's case).
This rare colour candid from 1954 captures Terry Moore, Piper Laurie & Joan Evans together. Evans is now retired, having become an educator later in life.
Moore and Laurie catch up on old times whenever their paths cross. Here's Moore lost in flowers and Laurie painting her nails.
They joined Kurtwood Smith, Karri Turner and Mayor Johnny Grant for a panel on United Service Organizations (USO) experience some years back.
Like Moore and Laurie, Baker entertained the troops.
