These came up during the Colts/Texans game.
A player was injured during a kick off after the 2 minute warning before the half. Since that stops the clock they take away a time out to prevent players from faking it as a game stopping strategy. I get that. What I don't get is why they would take a time out away when the clock stops automatically anyway right after the kick off.
When there was about 20 seconds left of a quarter and still ticking, the TV is showing the game clock running down from 35 seconds. Why don't they just turn off the game clock and use the other one for it since it is still winding down within 35 seconds anyway?
