May have been the oddest actor to have a long running career in Hollywood, and added something worthwhile even to the least worthwhile film. One of the true unreplaceables.

Although I couldn't name a half dozen films he did, his persona - somewhere between an elf and a gnome - was indelible, and his appearance as C.W. Moss made him iconic. Rather remarkable to consider that, until yesterday, all the principal players of one made over a half-century ago were still with us.
I suspect that no matter when he'd come along, from the '20s to this very decade, he'd have found his niche in pictures.

In addition to his role in B&C, Pollard made two TV appearances that made quite an impression on the young me. On Lost in Space as the doomed Boy in “The Magic Mirror”. And on Star Trek as the doomed Jahn in “Miri”. RIP, Michael. Thank you for everything.

I loved him as the slightly "loopy" fire fighter, Andy, in Steve Martin's Roxanne.
