Hernandez and Bucknor are two names that repeatedly come up when talking about bad umps.
I forget who the ump was, but a few years ago he called a strike on Jason Bay when the ball passed completely through the opposite batter's box.

Ugh, that was seriously the absolute worst, bullshit call I've ever seen while watching a game. What a total crock of shit. And the umpires are all such assholes that they just refuse to listen to even the other umpires who clearly saw what happened whereas you, who were standing right there in perfect fucking position, completely screw the pooch. It really is indefensible. EDIT: Watching this video again, Joe Morgan is such a babbling tool. First, he's droning on about "good hustle by Garcia," then on to discussing the trajectory of the ball and how the way Tarasco was standing meant he wouldn't have caught the ball. What a dickhead. It's like someone was just sitting there prodding him with electricity forcing him to speak for minutes at a time without actually saying anything. |

I still think Jim Joyce is the best ump in my lifetime. His ball/strike calls were a tad dramatic but he was consistent. I felt so bad for him after he robbed Armando Gallaraga of his perfect game. Can we talk about laz diaz? I feel like are are ignoring him in this thread and he is a piece of sh!t. Also whoever was behind the plate last night that called strike 3 on judge in the yankee game when the ball was clearly way below his knees, they showed the side view
