In every year, in every draft, there are players who are "busts", who can't go to the next level. One that leaps to mind is Vince Young. I thought he had it all. Tennessee didn't treat him very good and there was some concerns about his ability to mentally run an NFL offense. Some players, when drafted, you can see their deficiencies, even though the scouts and GM's can't. Big Jawn Football. Why couldn't anyone see that Manziel was too short and too arrogant to go to the next level. Tony Mandarich. Greatest CFB offensive lineman ever. But you look at the SI cover and know that he had to have gotten that boy through chemistry and he couldn't get away with that in the NFL. JaMarcus Russell. Whoever thought that fat fuck was a #1 overall pick. But GM's fall in love with the pluses and ignore the minuses. And they fear passing on a prospect and seeing him become a star. Tony Mandarich at pre draft workouts. Better living through chemistry. Green Bay passed on Barry Sanders, Derrick Thomas and Deion Sanders for him.

There's been threads about this before, and I always bring up Vince Young. I honestly thought the guy was the next Joe Montana.

Inserting the inevitable Len Bias comment here. I would never consider Len Bias a "bust", we never saw him in the pros, so it's hard to say how he would have been. He's just a kid who made a real bad mistake.
