Great example set by the Marlins. The guy murdered two people with his despicable actions. He is a disgrace to the Marlins, their fans and to the MLB. He should be shunned, not honored. I'm kind of torn on this. I can see the organization wanting to honor Fernandez. He did a lot and was a nice guy. But as someone who has had 44 of his 54 years fucked up by some drunk driver, I'm not sure he should get a pass. He could have taken a lot of poor innocent bastards with him.

Very disrespectful thread. Jose Fernandez is not a murderer, he made a stupid decision but he was not a bad person. The other 2 guys were doing coke and were drunk as well, they were all equally responsible, and we don't know all the circumstances of who was driving, but it was absolutely not murder and Fernandez was not a bad person. If he was drunk driving and killed 2 random people, it would be different, all 3 made the idiotic decision to take a boat out in the middle of the night while drunk and high.
