Schalke v Ajax, 8.05pm k/o.
Ajax won the first leg 2-0 and were very impressive. Extremely young team.
Ch. No. 59.
I anticipate an exciting match.

Did you hear that? 1,651 consecutive Ajax games where there's been at least one graduate from their academy on the field. We all know that Ajax is well known for it, but that really is some stat.

Man United have an impressive stat as well. An 80 year unbroken run of having at least one youth player in their match day squad dating back to October 30, 1937. " And, if that wasn’t impressive enough, up until 2011 there was a player from the youth system in every single starting XI for 73 years. However, on May 1, 2011 John O'Shea started the game on the bench against Arsenal." www.newstalk.com/reader/47.302.347/5756/0/Although I don't know how long that record is going to hold up. How many youth players do they have that get into the squad. Rashford? Lingard? And maybe the odd unknown on the bench?

Should have been a second red card for Ajax a few minutes ago.
3-0 now.

Well, well! Ten man Ajax have the away goal advantage with eight minutes to play.

Quite remarkable. A second late pot for the visitors seals it at 3-2. Game of the night without a doubt.

This match was bad for my health. It isn't the first time this tournament that Ajax made it extra exciting for the viewers at home.

BBC had Besiktas winning on penalties. They've now changed it. Useless site.

0Another Portuguese goalkeeper coming up trumps in a penalty shoot-out..it's a good habit.
Two Ligue 1 sides in the semi finals of European competition underlines the vast improvement that is being made with plenty of financial investment coming in also at the likes of Marseille and Lille (who will have Marcelo Bielsa at the helm next season).
