Okay, folks. Outstanding Supporting Actress. The winner for 2000-2009, believe it or not, was Rachel Melvin and the runner-up was the First Lady of Days of our Lives herself, Frances Reid. That's an interesting pair. The winners /runners-up for Lead Actor (Peter and Matt) and Actress (Missy and Kristian) were such conventional picks, it's interesting to see this is the route we went. I do think Rachel Melvin was actually really good as Chelsea. She took an extremely hate-able character and wound up making me like her. And Frances is Frances. But I wish I knew who the other nominees were.
Either way, we saw neither actress this year obviously, so who will it be?
Also, some notes about some actresses who didn't get a nomination. This was a BIG category and I had to draw the line.
Linsey Godfrey - great job so far, but too new. Judi Evans, Christie Clark and Martha Madison - had some time on contract, but ultimately made sense to nominate as Recurring/Guest Actresses. Shelley Hennig - was gone too soon in the decade, and didn't have the pedigree of a Renee Jones or a Crystal Chappell for whom this was also true. She will show up in "Hottest Actress" though. All of this is also true for Lindsay Hartley.
For those curious, here are the individual year winners and runner-ups for this decade:
2010: Suzanne Rogers (Runners-Up: Lindsay Hartley and Melissa Reeves) 2011: Suzanne Rogers (Runner-Up: Kate Mansi) 2012: Renee Jones (Runner-Up: Kate Mansi) 2013: Lauren Koslow (Runner-Up: Jen Lilley) 2014: Eileen Davidson (Runner-Up: Lauren Koslow) 2015: Kate Mansi (Runner-Up: Kassie DePaiva) 2016: Kate Mansi (Runner-Up: Judi Evans) 2018: Kate Mansi (Runners-Up: Nadia Bjorlin/Linsey Godfrey/Victoria Konefal) 2019: Mary Beth Evans (Runner-Up: Arianne Zucker)
The winningest actress of this award this decade is Kate Mansi, who's not nominated since she's pretty clearly a lead.

So, for me, this category has a clear winner. Suzanne Rogers should win this award. In addition to being literally the only one on this list who was there the whole time, this decade really saw this show remember Maggie was important and bring her back to the forefront. The decade began with Mickey's death and it held Maggie back not at all, she started a popular pairing with Victor, became a mother or grandmother figure to everyone under the sun and really inherited the mantle of the new Alice Horton. It wasn't always great (her new kids Daniel and Summer were certainly missteps) but ultimately this was the best decade Maggie had since probably the '70s or '80s.
I got 3 votes, so I had to pick two more. Look Melanie was no one's favorite, but Molly Burnett did really come to grow on me as an actress a lot and I felt she did a lot with crap. Crystal Chappell is a phenomenal actress who gave a wonderful ferocious performance in the year and a half we had of her.
All in all, it's kind of a weak category though. This really just should be Suzanne's to run away with.
