Why or why not?
Discuss.

Yeah, they have their comparisons. Both are wealthy, tech smart, intelligent, figures in the corporate world. They're both humans with no exceptional superpowers, only resourcefulness, technological adaptations and wills. Batman's resolve is as hard as Iron Man's armor because he has no armor that hard. His willpower is his shield.
At a glance the biggest difference is one's a secret identity and the other openly owns his. I'd even say Bruce Wayne has an alter ego (or maybe it's Batman who has the alter ego) while Stark doesn't snap into being someone else when he puts on the suit. He's still him.

Not really. They are only similar in a superficial sense but they're very different. While both are billionaire playboys, Wayne's playboy persona is a front whereas Stark is a legitimate playboy. Stark is a socialite who loves the limelight whereas Wayne is actually a reclusive loner.
Both are very smart men but Wayne is kind of a Mary Sue in this department, smart in everything from technology to detective sleuthing to astro physics. Stark is a more specialized technology genius.
Batman is (supposed to be) a ninja who uses gadgets and tech to assist him. Stark is a guy who depends primarily on gadgets and technology to fight crime.
Batman is primarily a close combat fighter, Ironman is primarily a ranged fighter.
Stark has a relaxed, wing-it approach to superheroics whereas Wayne is methodical and no-nonsense.
When you think about it, the only things they really have in common is that they're both rich, smart and non-superhuman... but then again there are lots of other comicbook characters sharing the same characteristics. They have far more differences between them.

Well he certainly wasn't as quippy or jokey, but he was still a lot more laid back than Wayne and he was still a hard drinking socialite.

Pretty much what fire skull said in his initial post. Also Batman has more often than not, psychotic villains. Obviously has Bat-themed weapons and such. He also takes sidekicks under his wing which Tony doesnt. Tony cant fight without the suit
There are other similarities. They both are part of a hero group, have butlers and have inherited money

Indeed. I've always viewed Tony Stark/Iron Man as the Marvel Universe's version of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Both are highly intelligent ultra-wealthy businessmen who dedicate their lives to protecting the innocent. Stark is cockier, but they share a lot of the same core qualities.
Good call, OP.
