Dark, moody, ambient jazz from a German outfit. An interesting mix. Anybody heard of them before?
Bohren & Der Club of Gore - Tief gesunken
Bohren & der Club of Gore - Sollen es doch Alle wissen
Here is the entire new album just released.
Bohren & Der Club Of Gore - Patchouli Blue (2020)

I was introduced to them via Lustmord years and years ago when he mentioned that they were one of his favourite bands. Their dark and very VERY slooooow jazz conjures up David Lynchian images of red velvet and smoke which is a nice thing indeed but it becomes rather samey after a while.
Black Earth is a lovely album but but it could easily be cut in half and still maintain the same effect.

I was very surprised to see that they were formed in 1992 and that their first album was released in 1994. This stuff is right up my alley and I'd never heard of them.

Blimey, this thread is a proper throwback to the proper imdb music board days. I think I've got one or two albums by them, though I never recall finding them that interesting. Perhaps I should dig something out again. I would listen to those links, but Maher Shalal Hash Baz's "Moving without Ark" is playing, and some things are just sacred.

Heard of them, but don't know them.
If you like them, here's some other albums that are good of that ilk.
Senketsu No Night Club - Shikkoku
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble - The Stairwell
Dale Cooper Quartet and The Dictaphones - Parole de Navarre

I went through a phase of finding them fascinating about 10 years ago. The first album i heard was Sunset Mission which led me to Black Earth. I've not heard anything like them since and still go back to them every once in a while.
