For a while there was a "like" button in the Private Message area and it vanished as quickly and mysteriously as it had come.
It was rather nice to use to let someone know that a message had been received but there would be no further commentary being sent.
Is there a possibility that it can be restored ?
If not, for technical or some other reason, that's cool too !

Unfortunately, the code I wrote was admittedly not great and there was a way to exploit it, as relayed to me by another coder, so I simply removed it rather than fix it. I hadn't thought it would be widely used or missed so I just nixed it and called it a day. There were flaws in it anyway; likes would not persist past the first few most recent pages of PMs. This is something I could not reconcile because of this site's limitations in terms of scripting. I may revisit it or not. I do know how I would fix it so I suppose if there's a clamor for it, I'll just do it and get it over with.

bartlesbyIt's not a biggy at all .. it was just a nice little feature that probably not all that many people noticed or even used. As I said, it was handy as a "end of convo" signal more than anything. Possible "exploitations" always good to avoid ! Thanks for the rapid reply and for all the helping you do around here! 
auto correct just changed "biggy" to "buggy" but I caught it
