I understand that no individual performance really stood out, so it is tough to choose an MVP, but why Mahomes? I know they did it because he is the QB, but he did not play well at all. There were some defensive players and even Damien Williams who probably deserved it more. I am just sick of automatically giving the MVP to a QB.

I thought Damian Williams might get it for his 2 TDs, but he didn't have an especially great game either.
Mahomes didn't have a great game, but he did make some clutch plays and in a game with no other standout performances I'm totally fine with it too.

He was also running for his life most of the game. He was off, but he was the most valuable player on the field.

When no one really stands out the QB usually gets it. But really, the way Mahomes played the entire playoffs, it was a well deserved MVP. He basically willed them to a SB victory.

No one really stood out on either side in this game so no one was really snubbed or anything. I think Williams and Clark had better games.

IMHO he got it based on looks, personality and being likable. And I agree that Williams should have got it more. But ya know what? Nuthin we can do about it. It is what it is.

I disagree about Mahomes not playing well, it was impressive how he bounced back from the 2 picks and made some big plays, a lot of QB’s wouldn’t have bounced back from that.

I believe his QB rating was 69 or something like that. Garoppolo’s rating was 69.2. Mahomes’ was 78.1. I had the stats up the whole game. Before the Chiefs started killing it in the 4th and it was 20-10 Niners, Jimmy's QB rating was 111. Then he choked.
