What you perceive as pretentious is a nothing but a projection of your personal incredulity. In other words: The one eyed man may be king among the blind, yet he still lacks depth perception. That's just your opinion which is pretty weak. Dracula is pretentious. If I was the only one who has said it that might be unsteady but lots have said it.
And Marcia Lucas knew him personally and implied the same. I guess you would say she is an ant scurrying among a giant or something pretentious like that.

Another fallacy: Bandwagon. Note that you do not even try to bring forward an argument as to what makes these films pretentious, they just are because you think so and others allegedly agree. As before, plus appeal to authority. Also, I doubt Marcia Lucas ever claimed FFC or his films are pretentious, you are just making this up (another fallacy: burden of proof). Straw man projection. Also, ants are more your thing.
