Let's pretend that in an alternate universe, these two actors switched their superhero acting roles. Will Smith plays Tony Stark and RDJ plays Deadshot. Nothing else is changed in the movies. Same director, same script, same co-stars, same everything. The only change is the actors playing the lead roles.
Who does a better job playing their new characters? What pros and cons do each bring to their new characters compared to the original actors who played the character? Will either of them improve the sales or ratings of their movies?

I’ve actually suggested in the race swap thread that Will Smith would make an excellent Tony Stark. RDJ... idk. That’s a tough one. He doesn’t seem like Deadshot material but I don’t think it’s impossible for him to pull it off.

Smith as Stark could've been fun, as long as we're past the point where Will feels like he needs to sing the theme song for the film.

I think RDJ would do better, Smith is usually just Will Smith in another characters clothes, that was true for Deadshot, just happens to be Will Smith is entertaining to watch, but I don't think Will Smith would work as Tony Stark, not to the level RDJ did, but I think RDJ would play into the character of Deadshot more, RDJ leans into his characters I feel where as Will Smith turns his characters into him, both would be entertaining in the roles however, but RDJ would do better in the new position.

Was Deadshot all that physical? It was just him flipping his hands around in different angles, right? Trying to remember if he was that much of a martial artist and acrobat as he is in comics and animation. With how he was with Morgan, I can see him doing a good job of being that father. Like what dazz said, I can see Will Smith pretty much Tom Cruise'ing the role. It'd just be Mike Lowry in an Iron Man suit. Not really about how he'd do in the role, but you also have to think about who would play Rhodey... Do you switch both races?
