I would consider Dafoe and Pattinson to be co-leads in The Lighthouse, otherwise he’d be on here. Also looks like I need to watch more movies from last year...
Pesci - Irishman Pacino - Irishman Tory Kittles - Dragged Across Concrete Brad Pitt - Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Song Kang-ho - Parasite

It’s close - but actually the more I think about it he’s probably more of a supporting actor. Everything is from Pattinson’s POV.

Brad Pitt is also debatable, but the movie is more about DiCaprio's character. Brad Pitt is in the movie almost as much as DiCaprio and the second half of the movie becomes more about Brad Pitt's character.

I’d like to see an actual screentime comparison just for grins. But yeah, it’s centered on Rick Dalton, so the relative toss-up goes to Leo. I could understand arguing they’re co-leads as well.

I don't understand what the big fuss is about Brad Pitt in the movie. I like him quite a bit in the movie, but he is just playing cool, with a dark undercurrent. He is basically just playing a darker version of himself. He even joked about this during some of his award's acceptance speeches. I actually thought it was one of Pitt’s best performances... it’s certainly a role that plays to his strengths but rarely has his ease and natural charm been more appropriately used and I would have had no problem with his Oscar win had it not been such a case of forcing a star into support to guarantee a win. Of the nominees for supporting actor I thought Pesci, in his best role ever, should have have walked off with it. If this is his final acting performance, it’s quite a one to go out on.

That is fine, I just don't think it is anything special. He does very well what he is great at doing. It is terrific casting, but I don't love him in the movie even just as doing what he is already great at doing. It is his best performance of the cool laid back Brad Pitt performances he has given, but that doesn't impress me all that much.
