A Jersey Mike's opened 3 minutes away from our house last year, we tried the beef with caramelized onions, the onions were good but the bread was doughy and the beef (very little of it) looked like someone chewed it up and spit it out. We haven't been back but I guess a lot of people love Jersey Mike's, I prefer Publix 's subs, this Jersey Mike's is just a few doors down from Publix and it is not doing a good business.

I can understand this. There is a Publix within walking distance of where I live and there was a Subway right next to it for a little while. Gone now. As you implied, it is hard to beat Publix subs. Got an ad in the mail a couple of days ago for Jersey Mike. Looked interesting but after your mini-review I am not likely to try it.

Given the name Jersey Mike's, I thought there probably wouldn't be any on the west coast. I was wrong. There are a few in some surrounding towns, but I've never seen them. We don't have Publix, here, but I wish we did, from all the comments I read on this board. There's a Subway a couple of blocks away ... one of their sandwiches was enough. Ick. There was a small deli near where I used to work, that made a BFS. They were big, and they were a sandwich I'll let you guys figure out the rest. They were delicious! A & W used to make great subs, but I don't know about now. That was when I was in school, and that was a few weeks ago.

They're a little too expensive but they make good sandwiches. If you're going to spend that much, I prefer Blimpie though.

I like them. I always order extra oil and mayo. It makes a big difference to me. I don't like a dry sandwich. The warm subs aren't as good as the cold subs.

It's good that they freshly slice the meats and cheese in front of you but I like Potbelly's a little better.

No I haven't, it sounds good but I would have to take off the tomato and cucumber - can't eat those anymore. Maybe I'll make my own "greek sandwich", I have some Sabra caramelized onion Hummus in the fridge and have a taste for some feta.
