High Octane Pictures has unleashed the trailer for their latest bit of horror movie silliness, a dinosaur flick titled Jurassic Thunder and centered on a T-Rex turned into a war machine.
Written and co-directed by Milko Davis (Tsunambee), it hits DVD and Digital on March 10.
When a covert desert base is forced to divert World War III against a formidable adversary, a group of commandos and weaponized dinosaurs are hired to get the job done.
Heath C. Heine, Rick Haak, Jon Cotton star.

I thought this was an Asylum movie for a second. I thought it was the name of a porn star.

If this makes me sound like a paleontological pedant...too bad. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/wcpsuo2ah/bigrazz.gif) While I understand why the original "Jurassic Park/World" franchise, which originated from the novel Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton (who also co-wrote the screenplay), was called "Jurassic" rather than the more accurate "Cretaceous" (the period inhabited by T. rex, velociraptor, triceratops)--apparently somebody thought "Jurassic" sounded more "dinosaury"--I don't see any reason for this cheapo ripoff to call itself that..except, of course, in hopes of riding the very lucrative coattails of Spielberg's franchise. Come on, folks--if you're going to produce shlock, can't you at least be a little more original (not to mention a little more geologically accurate)?

Reminds me of Dino-Riders. ![](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/36/6a/e4/366ae4d61313286fdffc497ffa5636d3.jpg) I'm surprised no one's tried to make a live-action movie of that^ as yet (that's the direction I thought the Jurassic World movies were heading in).

Geological accuracy is the last thing I'd expect someone producing "rip-off schlock" to care about. The word has become synonymous with dinosaur movies.

I wish some of these studios would stop trying to create a cult film. Being deliberately and ironically bad is no excuse for whatever that trailer is.

I wish some of these studios would stop trying to create a cult film. Being deliberately and ironically bad is no excuse for whatever that trailer is. I think MST3k takes some blame for this. They promoted the idea that a B movie has to be a joke--and not serious, and they mocked films that were often very serious with their drama despite the fantasy scenario. Now you have all these hacks who are like "yeah we made it bad deliberately so you can laugh at it." It's cinema for idiots.
