The Force Awakens -I enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun. Wasn't too keen on the fact it was more than a little ripping off the original. But hey. It was cool.
Rogue One -Was kinda all over the shop in early scenes, but once it got going, solid stuff. Enjoyed it a lot.
The Last Jedi -Didn't see the same film the whiners and haters saw. Enjoyed it, wasn't as good as Force Awakens, some characters got shafted, it went on way too long, there were some detours it really didn't need, but I still loved it.
Solo -Was sad that this one was a flop as it was actually more light-hearted than the last couple of movies, there was a bit more of a sense of fun.
The Rise of Skywalker -This is one of the few films I've seen where, on one hand, I enjoy it a lot, was glad to see it on the big screen. And on the other thought- that's it? I couldn't help feel just a wee bit underwhelmed, we were all building to .... well...basically, Return of the Jedi's events weren't quite over yet, let's put it like that. There were some good moments. I did like us hearing all the Jedi - ears peeled for Liam Neeson, Samuel L Jackson, Ewan McGregor among the other voices - when called on. It just felt like - after all that, it seemed like really expensive fanfic...

Force Awakens - Loved it
Last Jedi - Loooooved it. While I wouldn't say it's my favorite Star Wars movie, I think it's the best directed Star Wars movie.
Rise Of Skywalker - Despite my better judgement, I really enjoyed this one. I could not stand the storyline and the idiotic need to make Rey's lineage special, but I still enjoy the characters and the heartstring tugs. In its goal to please everybody, they wound up pleasing no one but I still think it was fun to watch.
Rogue One - Loved the Star Wars nostalgia but did not enjoy the story. Give me massive space battles any day of the week though.
Solo - I thought it was a fun movie although it used easter eggs in the worst ways. I like Ron Howard though. They should have kept Michael Williams as the villain.

They should have kept Michael Williams as the villain. It’s funny mine is almost the opposite. The Force Awakens: Thought it was pretty good. Loved the nostalgia with the older characters, although the bit with Han was unnecessary (IMO). The Last Jedi: Hated it! Couldn’t stand what they did with Luke. Kylo was super annoying. Finn became less interesting than he was in the previous film (and that entire subplot with him and the female sidekick/love interest was just stupid). Just the overall tone of this film sucked to me (compared to the previous one or the following one. One of my least favorite Star Wars films. The only really great scene to me was the hyperspace crash (which was awesome). Rise of Skywalker: Best of the sequel trilogy. Return to form to the direction JJ Abrams was going with The Force Awakens. Finn (and the mystique around him) was much better in this film Kylo and Rey became more interesting (less one dimensional characters) in this one. Nice to see Lando back, and the inclusion of Palpatine was the cherry on top. Some interesting new force powers we got to see in this one too. Rogue One: I consider a great stand alone film and I enjoyed seeing a film set in the Star Wars universe that didn’t follow any of the Skywalker storyline. The characters could have been fleshed out a bit better, but that’s my only real complaint. Solo: I agree with your assessment 100%. A fun popcorn movie with some nice nods and Easter eggs to the original trilogy, but sometimes trying too hard. I enjoyed it, but hardly a masterpiece. Empire Strikes Back: 10/10 A New Hope: 9/10 Revenge of the Sith: 8/10 Return of the Jedi: 8/10 Rise of Skywalker: 7/10 The Force Awakens: 7/10 Rogue One: 6/10 Solo: 6/10 The Last Jedi: 5/10 The Phantom Menace: 3/10 Attack of the Clones: 3/10

Saw Force Awakens, it was ok. Rogue One was tediously dull, haven't bothered with the rest. I do wanna see "The Madalorian" though (Baby Yoda looks adorable)

The Force Awakens - Loved it, the most fun I've had in the cinema for years. A return to Old Hollywood again. Fun and exciting.
The Last Jedi - Excellent, probably the best SW film storywise in all honesty. Great thematic substance. Better than Empire
The Rise of Skywalker - Oh dear. It has none of the complexities and slow burn drama of the previous film. All razzle dazzle. A fun mess, but empty.
Overall, Disney did a good job. The first two films were great but TROS is too safe. The original trilogy is probably preferable for the most part but Star Wars on its own is too silly and shouldn't be taken serious. If you're an adult who sees this films as important cultural artefacts or profound cinema you're wallowing in the infantile.
My overall rank:
1. Star Wars - 8/10 2. The Last Jedi - 7/10 3. The Force Awakens - 7/10 4. The Empire Strikes Back 7/10 5. The Rise of Skywalker - 6/10 6. Return of the Jedi - 6/10 7. The Phantom Menace - 5/10 8. Attack of the Clones - 5/10 9. Revenge of the Sith - 4/10

a cynics guide for allowing space force to exist
i extrapolated every common denominator revolving around each and every generations excuses for glorifying incinerators as beacons of truth and justice.
and came up with the outright super precious momentum behind why men feed upon each other.
for it's far easier to smother one another than to discover you have a boundless heart in common with every living part you've refused to even grunt about.
so i'm hoovering here between a two inch brain or penis with you still believing a god genius approves your every move while he's relieving himself all over you.

Yes. But its the writer that composes the story, of which he had a strong influence. Spielberg didn't "make" Jurassic Park. Michael Crichton did. It was one of Crichton's novels.

Liked most of them. The Last Jedi was alright, however, I do not see how the producer of that particular film decided to make Luke lose faith in the Jedi religion. The Luke Skywalker of the original trilogy would never have lost faith in Jediism.

"But its the writer that composes the story, of which he had a strong influence." Eh, to a degree, though film is still largely a visual medium, I would argue direction/editing/music is more important than the actual script. You do realize scripts often go through constant revisions by directors/producers/execs right? "Michael Crichton did. It was one of Crichton's novels." Yeah, but it takes a good director to turn a story into a good visual medium. Compare Kubrick's version of "The Shining" to the Stephen King miniseries. Yeah, maybe King wrote the actual story, but he doesn't have the directing talent to make a good visual work and thus his version pales in comparison to the Kubrick version.

Yeah, but he's a troll so there's not much thought in his ravings. Lucas had little creative input in Empire, he then decided that 6 more films was too much for him because he wasn't up for it, so he fixed loose ends such as the "other" and finished after ROTJ. That nonsense about him going back and finishing the saga was PR speak. The prequel trilogy was just a cash cow.

If not for the music of John Williams, there would be no reason to watch Star Wars.
That's just my opinion of course. It is possible I could have missed things.

The first one was loved for its Old Hollywood style, telling its story through action, and it was the presentation of ideas that was praised, eg. the visual effects. It's all silly fun. There's nothing profound about Star Wars so you're not missing too much.

I haven't seen Solo yet.
I liked TFA and Rogue One.
The Rise of Skywalker was better than the Last Jedi and I wasn't a fan of that one.
Overall I felt that the prequel trilogy ends up being more consistent despite the bad acting and dialogue.

The Force Awakens - Bit unoriginal, but fun and entertaining.
Rogue One - Characters didn't really make any sense, and it didn't fit as well with ANH as it could have, but it was okay.
The Last Jedi - Terrible movie. Hated it. Actually gave the prequels a run for their money as worst SW film, which is saying something.
Solo - Terrible movie. Hated it. They made a whole movie to explain a bad line in the first film... and failed to explain it. How dumb is that?
The Rise of Skywalker - My god, this film is a hot mess. But it's entertaining to watch.

So I’m watching Clone Wars TV show.
While there are more episodes than needed, it is much better than the prequels. It’s a shame they couldn’t better integrate the series into Episode 3.
As it is I’m totally done with ever watching the prequels again. They suck and I wish they had started the prequels where the TV show is.
