Minor league baseball is hanging by a thread. The one-time bedrock of America's pastime is crumbling from years of neglect and the MLB wants to tear the whole damn building down. Back in December, the MLB's plans for the liquidation of 42 MiLB teamsโas well as the reduction of the draft from 40 rounds to just over 20โleaked to widespread condemnation from players and fans alike. Stories like Aaron Judge's might cease to exist, we worried. Entire regions of America might be cutoff from live baseball entirely, fans said. It was, and remains, a sad story. If Mets minor leaguer Ty Kelly's recent thread about the conditions minor leaguers face on a daily basis is to be believed, however, then perhaps a swift, merciful death is actually for the best. We apologize in advance if you're reading this on your lunch break. www.golfdigest.com/story/ty-kelly-unearths-the-darkest-secret-about-minor-league-baseball-the-lunches-dear-god-the-lunches

Been hearing this for a while. Hoping it won't happen. MLB will be hit by a plethora of lawsuits, from fans, owners, people who income is tied to MiLB parks, cities with teams that will be folded. Baseball hates lawsuits. The system WORKS. Raw talent is turned into MLB caliber players. And Minor League fans are happy. It's fun to go. Is it the majors, fuck no. It's it nice to see your team win, yeah but it's not the NFL. No one gets that excited if the Bisons win the International League. But it's fun, fun for families and you don't have to sell a kidney to get tickets.

But it's fun, fun for families and you don't have to sell a kidney to get tickets. the corporations are trying to get out of paying for r & d for talent, in many fields of biz in the usa. i've seen a push in the last year in astroturfing with some variation of corp. speakers at conferences talking about how adversity is the greatest teacher. lol. it's really sorta sadistic. and with both political parties being materialist in nature, the left (past materialists--marx) and the right future materialists---if you hear someone talk about 'delayed gratification' that's what they are about, work for pennies for years and you'll get paid real big later on, usually a lie---any ideas to fix it is heretical to what they believe.
