Now long gone, I used to love the cookie aroma emitted by the Maurice Lenell cookie store on Fullerton Ave in Chicago.

Bakeries, esp. freshly baked bread. One of the hints to selling your house is to bake something just before a showing. The smell is so enticing it could color the perception of the buyer. I think this was what sold our last house before where we live now.  |

Three coffee companies ... MJB, Folger's and Hills Brothers ... used to have processing plants, here. When the roasters were operating, and the winds were right, it was a glorious experience to be driving around those parts of town.

Back in my youth, we used to go grocery shopping on Saturday afternoon.
On the way back, even though it was about 100 metres away, we could catch the aroma of the KFC nearby.
The KFC closed up shop in 2012.

since I have not been banned yet, this is another one I like: smell of bars/cafes where weed smoking was allowed. Or generally smell of weed burning. It brings me back to a happy erra in my life and very happy memories. that and the smell of white wine.its incredible how even after almost 2 decades the memories come back when I smell white wine and weed. if they made it into a perfume, i would probably wear it.
